The Traffic Department of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), responsible for regulating the city’s traffic flow, managing road marking works, vertical–horizontal signage, and maintenance–repair operations, carries out hundreds of field tasks every day with a large operational capacity.
Today, the Vertical and Horizontal Signage Units operating on the European and Asian Sides digitally manage all field operations and inventories via Pintask.
What Were the Needs in Istanbul Before Pintask?
IMM needed a centralized, map-based digital system to monitor all field work and inventory processes, and to manage both vertical and horizontal road marking operations together with material consumption tracking.
Tracking the location, condition, and updates of thousands of field assets from a single source had become a critical operational need.
Information on which team completed which task, at what time, and with what details flowed from different processes—making it difficult to view everything on a single, unified screen.
The ability to track material consumption (road marking paint, asphalt, bolts, clamps, screws, etc.) based on work orders became increasingly important, especially with rising workload and operational intensity.
Managing the movement of materials and inventory between warehouse and field in a more centralized and traceable way offered a strong opportunity to prevent inconsistencies.
Producing reports faster, more consistently, and from a single source—rather than pulling data from different systems and files—was another major development need to strengthen decision-making processes.
For all these reasons, IMM chose Pintask to strengthen existing workflows and make field work, inventory, and material management more visible, traceable, and sustainable on a single platform.
2. How Did Pintask Improve Operations in Istanbul?
With Pintask, field and inventory management processes were unified under a more holistic, centralized, and scalable structure that matched the size of Istanbul’s operations. Data flow and team coordination became stronger and more efficient.
All Inventories Became Visible on a Single Platform

Traffic signs, poles, road markings, barriers, and other field assets across Istanbul can now be viewed and managed from a single screen with their exact locations and real-time conditions. This allows teams to detect changes quickly and plan more effectively.
Task Management Became Faster and More Coordinated

Tasks are now created, assigned, and tracked instantly via mobile devices. This accelerates existing workflows and strengthens communication between field teams and the operations center. Supervisors can view progress and task status on a unified dashboard.
Material (Consumable) Tracking Became More Transparent

Materials heavily used by IMM—such as road marking paint, asphalt, bolts, screws, clamps, and wedges—can now be tracked directly through work orders. This allows:
Automatic calculation of consumption
Accurate and up-to-date warehouse stock levels
Reduced risk of unnecessary material use
Better planning of material requirements
Warehouse–Field Processes Became Centralized

Material dispatch, usage, return, and assignment processes are now tracked in a unified structure for all teams. This improved the speed and accuracy of operational workflows.
Data-Driven Reporting and Evidence Documentation

Previously scattered data is now consolidated on a single platform. This enables fast, consistent reports—monthly, weekly, or region-based—to be produced within minutes. Teams can instantly access all needed analytics and supporting documents such as photos, timestamps, and GPS coordinates.
3. Results: The Impact of Pintask on Field and Inventory Management in Istanbul
Since adopting Pintask, IMM has achieved measurable and impactful operational improvements:
Communication between field teams and the operations center accelerated with more than 200 active users
Real-time task tracking increased productivity and sped up task completion times
Digital inventory management significantly reduced loss, errors, and duplication
Material tracking based on work orders improved stock control and planning
Reporting became faster and more standardized, supported by photo and GPS-based documentation
Where Else Is Pintask Used?
Pintask is used by over 1,000 users in more than 15 public institutions, helping organizations digitalize field operations, task management, and inventory workflows.
